Installation
Requirements
Development stores work without Protected Customer Data access — you can build and test your entire setup before requesting it.
- A Shopify store on any plan that supports the Subscriptions APIs (Basic Shopify and above).
- Permission to install apps on the store (store owner or staff with the Apps permission).
- If you plan to sell in a live store (not just a development store), Shopify’s Protected Customer Data access is required before customer-facing features (like the self-service portal) can serve real customer data. This is a Shopify-side approval RebillCart requests on your behalf during setup.
1. Install the app
Open the listing
Open the RebillCart listing on the Shopify App Store (or the install link your Partner sent you, if you’re on an early-access invite).
Click Install app
Then review the requested permissions.
Review permissions
RebillCart asks for access to products, orders, customers, and subscription contracts — it needs these to create selling plans, mirror contracts into your dashboard, and let customers manage their own subscriptions.
RebillCart never requests access to card details. Recurring charges run entirely on Shopify’s billing rails.
Finish install
Click Install. You’ll land in the RebillCart admin, embedded inside your Shopify admin.
2. Start your trial
Every plan — Starter and Pro — includes a 14-day free trial, and RebillCart is free on development stores. You won’t be charged until the trial ends. See Pricing & Plans for what’s included in each tier.
3. What’s next
With the app installed, the fastest path to your first sale is:
